My Journey
Through both my own experiences and the people I’ve supported, I’ve seen how profoundly lifestyle, metabolic health, stress, sleep, and connection influence how we think, feel, and function. I’ve also seen how empowering it can be when people truly understand their own health and are supported to make changes that fit their lives
Why I do this
I’ve always been drawn to understanding how the body and mind work together - and how the choices we make every day quietly shape our health over time.
Early in my journey, I noticed that many people were being given fragmented advice: nutrition without context, exercise without consideration, stress management without addressing root causes. Cognitive health, in particular, was often treated as something to worry about later, rather than something we can actively support throughout life.
Having seen the impact of dementia in my own family, I understood firsthand how confusing and isolating it can feel - and that perspective has shaped everything I do as a practitioner
My path into functional medicine and cognitive health grew from curiosity, professional training, and lived experience. I wanted to understand why people feel the way they do, why symptoms appear, and how we can support the brain and body before problems become entrenched.
I trained in functional medicine health coaching, nutrition, movement, and mind–body practices, alongside complementary therapies such as sound therapy. Over time, my work naturally focused on cognitive health —-not just memory or diagnosis, but clarity, resilience, emotional regulation, and long-term brain vitality.
The NICA clinic
I co-founded The Nica Clinic – New Interventions to Cognitive Ageing to create a space where science, lifestyle medicine, and personalised care meet.
NICA was born from a shared belief that cognitive health deserves more attention, better education, and earlier intervention. The clinic brings together practitioners and approaches that respect complexity while remaining practical and human.
My work with NICA informs everything I do individually - and vice versa. Both are rooted in the same
values: integrity, curiosity, collaboration, and
long-term thinking.
How I work
My approach is calm, collaborative, and deeply personalised.
I don’t believe in rigid protocols or overwhelming people with information. Instead, I focus on helping individuals understand what’s happening in their body and brain and guide them through changes that feel manageable, meaningful, and sustainable.
This might involve refining nutrition, supporting metabolic and brain health, improving movement and strength, addressing stress and sleep, or using mind–body and sound-based practices to support regulation and recovery.
The aim is always the same: clarity, resilience, and a sense of agency over your health.
What matters to me
At the heart of my work is a belief that people deserve to feel informed, supported, and respected in their health journey.
I value:
Thoughtful, evidence-based guidance
Honest, human conversations
Personalised care over generic advice
Long-term wellbeing over quick fixes.
Every aspect of my practice is shaped by both professional expertise and lived experience, helping me meet people where they are and guide them toward meaningful, sustainable change
